Teresa (Teri) Smith is a Certified Emergency Manager with over 23years experience. She currently serves as the Emergency Preparedness and Safety Manager for LMH Health where she is responsible for directing Joint Commission Environment of Care and Emergency Management activities including program design, and sharing her years of experience with over 1,800 employees.
Teri manages planning, budgeting, training, and programming related to emergency preparedness and response functions. She serves as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance and works directly with staff to develop, implement, manage, and continually improve hospital-wide emergency preparedness, business continuity response plans, and programs to improve LMH Health’s ability to respond to emergencies, effectively manage incidents, and systematically restore the Hospital and its offsite campuses to full operation following adverse events.
Prior, Teri served as the Director of Emergency Management, Douglas County, Kansas, where she was responsible for all emergency management programs and operations for the county of over 116,000 citizens.
At the request of state officials, Teri was deployed to Mississippi for Hurricane Katrina support. During that time, she served as liaison to state and federal agencies coordinating logistics and staffing issues.
